Ihdzí’: Opening Weekend

On April 4, 2024, we had the honour of officially opening Ihdzí’ to the Mayo community. Elder Irene Johnny led us in opening prayer, followed by the Remi Elin Drummers.

Council member, Helaina Moses was the event’s Master of Ceremonies, as the crowd hear from community leaders including, Chief Hope, Yukon University president Dr. Lesley Brown, and Na-Cho Nyäk Dun Development Corporation Board Member Turdy Taylor.

For the rest of the weekend, community members were invited in to tour the space, grab a snack, explore the artist market, and learn more on how to get involved.

On April 8, 2024, Ihdzí’ was recognized and honoured in the Yukon Legislative Assembly.
